Call company to open ‘best’ Welsh office

Moneypenny has shared its plans to build an innovative new headquarters in Wrexham, North Wales.

The telephone answering firm is planning to spend £15m on a new home for up to 1,000 staff. Currently, the business has 400 employees, but it has ambitious expansion plans. Moneypenny is fast outgrowing its current premises on the Wrexham Technology Park.

Ed Reeves, who is the co-founder and director of Moneypenny, explained what the firm is hoping to achieve with its new offices:

“It was our vision to create not just the best office for us, but the best office in the UK, and we are determined to achieve this.”

Wrexham council gave planning permission for the development in December, 2014. The designs are now complete, with Moneypenny recently releasing details of the new building to the press.

The 91,000 sq. ft. premises will be set in 10 acres of greenfield land. Included in the design are a tree house office and a village pub. Its innovative style is likely to inspire architects in North Wales and the rest of the world to rethink the way they design modern office complexes.

Once complete, the building will hopefully provide an ideal working environment for call centre staff. The offices are designed to absorb background noise, making it easier for the teams to hear what clients are saying and make themselves understood.

Included in the design are solar energy panels, natural ventilation, and a ground source heating system, as well as rainwater collection and recycling. This would make the building one of the most environmentally sustainable offices in the country.
