This is a restoration of the external facade of the original Chester Post Office building.

Using text found in the ‘Cheshire Observer’ from 20th May, 1876, we were able to design an entrance space akin to what would have originally been seen on the building. By removing the concrete ramp and creating a level threshold side entrance, we were also able to reinstate the original lightwells and windows to the basement.

In terms of aesthetic, we were able to design the contemporary elements of the facade to suit those of the client’s logo and style, including backlit signage and a contemporary aluminum- and timber-clad side entrance.
